The James Brand Titanium Collection | $85-350
Everything looks and feels better in titanium, doesn't it? It's more lightweight and stronger than steel and often bears a matte finish that's both supple and substantial. Because of this, it's not uncommon for knife companies to release knives that are popular among the everyday carry community with titanium scales.
The James Brand just announced new editions of its County and Elko folders, which now come in titanium. These two new editions, paired with the existing Titanium Chapter knife, make up the new Titanium Collection.
The Titanium Chapter
The Chapter in Titanium + Damascus | $350
The Chapter is a frame lock folder with a thumb stud that features a D2 semi-stainless steel blade. It comes in a drop point or tanto style. With the drop point blade, you have the option of a straight or serrated edge. There's also an option of a Damascus steel blade that only comes in a drop point straight edge. The overall length of the Chapter is 6.5" with a 2.75" blade.
The County
The County in Titanium | $199
The James Brand County knife is a more traditional folder with no pocket clip. It's slim and lightweight, tipping the scales at just under 2 ounces. It's a nail nick opener with a slip joint locking system. The modified straight back blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 steel and measures 2.5", for an overall length of 6".
The Elko
The Elko in Titanium | $85
The Elko is the runt of the group, but shouldn't be overlooked. It measures just 4.33" in overall length and weighing just 1.3 ounces. The 1.74" drop point blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 steel and features a nail nick for opening and slip join locking mechanism. It also offers a pry bar that doubles as a lanyard hole.
